Lined Drawstring Bag Sew Along Schedule

Friday, November 13, 2020

Thank you for your excitment about the upcoming Lined Drawstring Bag Sew Along! I've been working behind the scenes this week and wanted to share what posts you can expect from me starting Wednesday, November 18th! I'll also be posting my progress on my personal bags throughout the sew along! Next week I'll share what I plan to make! Here are the posts I have planned for each week:

Week 1: Tips for Choosing Fabrics for Drawstring Bags
Week 2: Video tutorial for the Lined Drawstring Bag
Week 3: Wine Bottle Drawstring Gift Bag Tutorial
Week 4: Adding an Exterior Pocket Tutorial

My personal projects: Lined Drawstring Bags I'm Planning to Make, Drawstring Bag Advent Calendar, Christmas Patchwork Lined Drawstring Gift Bag.

Currently, Instagram isn't showing recent photos added to hashtags because of the U.S. election. I'm not sure when that will change, so in addition to using the #lineddrawstringbag hashtag on your sew along posts, please be sure to tag me (@jenib320) in the photo too so that I don't miss them! :)

As I mentioned in my annoucement post, this is a no-stress sew along. Let's just make some bags together! Sew from the free tutorial, the pattern or the expansion pattern! Both patterns are still on sale, 20% off through 11/20/20. Prices are already marked down. Shop here:

  1. I've made SO many bags from your patterns over the years, but still really looking forward to the sewalong. Ordered up some holiday accent fabrics + twill tape so I'll be ready to go! ;-)

  2. Last Christmas I told myself I’d make 1 bag each month so that I’d have a collection ready for Christmas gifts this year. I even bought more holiday fabric! Current count = 0. Maybe this sew along will help me out!

  4. These bags are so easy to make (thanks to your detailed instructions!). I've made several since purchasing the pattern a few years ago.

  6. I have been making these bags since you first released the pattern. LOVE THEM! This has been my solution to wrapping gifts. My brother always said that wrapping gifts is the "bane of his existence", so these bags are better than "sliced bread". We now have an 80% paper free Christmas and the bags are used every year. Bonus for getting to use SUPER cute Christmas fabric! Thank you for the great pattern!

  7. I bought a Featherweight last month, and a few new project bags for my sock knitting will be the perfect project to get to know her. I have had the original pattern since forever, but it's been awhile since I've used it.

  8. Looking forward to it! I've made them before but I'm hoping to make some holiday ones this year, to use in lieu of gift wrap. Excited for the new size!
