Patchwork Essentials: The Half-Square Triangle Book
Happy Thursday! I have some beans to spill today. EEEK! I've been busy stitching and writing away behind the scenes making nearly 4,000 half-square triangles for...
Patchwork Essentials: The Half-Square Triangle BOOK! I have been talking for years about writing a book, and I finally did it. I am excited to add "Author" to my list of trades. It sounds so grown up, haha! So, why write a book on HSTs? They are my very favorite block! I wanted to share my favorite tips, methods, and most importantly my love and enthusiasm for HSTs.
I look forward to sharing more about it in the next few months! It's been one of the biggest challenges I've ever tackled. I can honestly say it's made with blood, sweat, and tears. Plus a lot of fabric and thread! It will be here Fall 2015, and is being published by Lucky Spool! You can even pre-order it already if you'd like! (How crazy is that?!)
Okay, enough chit-chat for me today! Now I need a diet coke and some chocolate, revealing such a big secret is nerve-wracking! :)
Cover shot by Lauren Hunt.
Congrats! That is so exciting!

ReplyDeleteYASS!!! 😍
ReplyDeleteWell done!! Sounds like an amazing accomplishment. You can be so proud if yourself.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You've picked a great topic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great topic and AMAZING cover for the book!! I'm totally going to be trimming from HST in mason jars now too. I actually spent 30 minutes taking pictures of my trimmings from a project cause I thought the trimmings in a pile were as beautiful as the project I was working on. We are strange people us quilters :) Congrats and I can't wait to pick up this book!
ReplyDeleteWEEEEOOOO! Love HSTs. Look forward to your book. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I keep my trimmings in clear glass cookie jars. They are most satisfying to look at while designing the next project/quilt.
How fun! The more I use HST's the more I love them so I can see how you got taken down that path :-) And OF COURSE that gorgeous photo was taken by Lauren Hunt - the more I see of her work the more I like her!
ReplyDeleteWow, so exciting! I'm looking forward to have a look inside your book. I loved all your HST projects so far. I wonder, do you have any plans for your beautiful trimmings in your jars? ;-)

ReplyDeleteCongrats Jeni! I echo Amy, great cover pic!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking from a photographer's perspective, that cover is genius! Normally the back of someone's head is not that interesting, but Lauren has managed to turn this into an "everyquilter" situation. We could all be the one to want to play with HSTs. Brilliant! This is definitely end cap material at the book store! Plus a sparkly congratulations for this accomplishment, your hard work will undoubtedly pay off!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That is great news. I can't wait to take a look at it.
