Happy Thursday! I was planning to share my 2014 crafty goals today, but decided to share a finished project instead since I finished this project last year. I have a bit of a backlog of quilts and other projects that need sharing, so I'm going to try and use January to get caught up on that!
Today I'm sharing my finished Dreiecke Hat! Pattern by Shannon Cook.
I started this sometime back in October but only got as far as the ribbing and then let it sit until early December. After I knit Michael's ribbed hat, I wanted a gray hat for myself. For this hat I used Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage in Gossamer. I'm usually not drawn to such warm grays, but I quite like this one. I knew I wanted to use a solid color to let the pattern shine.
I knit most of the body of the hat and finished it while we were driving from Wisconsin to Ohio right before Christmas. It was perfect for car knitting since it's just simple knit and purl stitches!
I did manage to miss one single purl but it's barely noticeable. I didn't realize it until I was quite a few rows past it so I just left it. One mistake isn't so bad!
It was a bit uneven before I blocked it, but a good soak with some Soak Wash and it looks great! I let it dry with a few hand towels bunched up inside of it.
The fresh snow seemed like the perfect backdrop for hat photos!
I really like how this hat turned out. It was a very quick knit and beginner friendly. It's definitely going to get a lot of wear! This is the third pattern of Shannon's that I've made, and all of my projects have turned out great! I definitely recommend checking out her website! She just came out with a new hat pattern, Keaton!
You can find my hat on Ravelry. The pattern is available on Shannon's website and also on Ravelry!
Happy Knitting!
I think one mistake is Good Luck!

ReplyDeleteLove it! Great hat and looks like you have good hat weather. :)
ReplyDeleteJust bought the pattern today. Now to dust off my knitting needles and find some good YouTube videos on how to cast on.... :) Your hat is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great pattern, just enough texture to make it special looking. And the color is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour new hat is lovely, jeni.
ReplyDeleteooh looks cosy! really pretty pattern also :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful hat. I love hats but can't wear them. Maybe it's the short hair or something but they just don't look right on me.
ReplyDeleteCute hat, but I had to comment, because you look so cute in it. Tucked in the snow with your pink cheeks, you just look so happy.
ReplyDeleteHop e2014 brings wonderful things for you!
