Dyed Bottle Brush Trees by Jeni Baker

Happy Sunday! Hope you're all having an enjoyable weekend! We're trying to get back into the swing of things.  Having my Mom here last week was awesome, I'm glad it won't be too much longer and we'll be going home!  Michael didn't even have to work much this weekend, so it was nice having him home.

I finally added glitter to some of my newly dyed bottle brush trees.  I love how they turned out! I still need to add glitter to the other half.  I used this tutorial for bleaching and dyeing (with Rit).  I had some trees on hand already and the rest I found in the dollhouse section at Hobby Lobby.

Did a little shopping last week. Stocked up on some new-to-me colors of Art Gallery Fabrics Oval and Nature Elements.  I love, love, love the purple one.  It's orchid bloom nature element!

Last week my Mom and I hit up my regular thrift and antique shops, and ventured to a few out of town ones.  We didn't find too much, but came home with a few things! I was so excited to finally find a turquoise lotus dish, and I had to add the floral tin (it's Clinique so I don't think it's vintage) to my growing tin collection.  The vintage sheets have all been added to the shop!

Cathrineholm Bowl by Jeni Baker

Finding this beautiful Cathrineholm bowl (it's 11"!) made me want to scream like a little girl.  It's in absolutely pristine condition and considering, it was really reasonably priced.  A matching platter will be under the tree for me later this month :)

Michael and I by Jeni Baker

I realized the other day that as much as I talk about Michael, I've never posted a photo of us together! Since it was unseasonably warm today (56!), we went to the Madison zoo for a bit.  It was really nice getting out of the house, and seeing the penguins!

  12. Nice to see a picture of Michael and know what he looks like. I think there was a photo of him very early on in your blog - maybe at a basketball game, but it has been a long time. Reason I know is because I started reading your blog from the beginning not too long ago. I love those fabrics and added them to my growing list of fabrics to look for when shopping on line and the bottle brush trees are cute as they can be. And George, what can I say besides, "Ahhhh". N
