This Weekend

Hi there! Hope everyone has had a good weekend! Mine is wrapping up on a good note.  Michael was able to go to the Detroit Tiger's first playoff game yesterday (they won!), so it was just me and George for most of the weekend.  We're happy to have Michael back home today!

I finished the quilting for the quilt above yesterday.  I'm so excited to share it with you! Hopefully on Tuesday.  Just trying to finish up the pattern!

Part of the fun of sewing is the sharing, so it's always hard having projects that I can't share quite yet! But, I couldn't leave you with nothing, so here is a little peek of two quilt tops I finished up this weekend! They both feature my upcoming fabric line with Art Gallery, Color Me Retro, and they'll be displayed at Quilt Market at the end of this month.  So not too long of a wait till I can share!

For now, they are taking a journey to be quilted by Lindsay of Eileen Quilts!

I stitched up my frame purse yesterday. It honestly went pretty smoothly! I started off using Katy Jones' tutorial and tweeked the template a bit, making it longer and doing rounded corners. I decided to make a little zippy pouch to put inside it, I'm planning to use it at Sewing Summit!

I used prints from Rock 'n Romance by Pat Bravo for both.

Took some time away from the sewing machine Friday to go thrifting! I hadn't been on a big thrift run since I was in Ohio in August, it was really nice to go out! I took lots of photos as I shopped, I'll be sharing them later this week in a new series, Adventures in Thrifting! I think it will be fun!

Anyways, I was really happy to find three great vintage sheets, another Arabia Finel heart enamel bowl, and a Dansk Kobenstyle fondue base! I was especially excited about the base.  About 8 months ago, I found a lone Dansk fondue pot at the same thrift store without it's base or lid.  I'm assuming it got separated, what are the chances of finding pieces from two separate sets at the same store? I'm hoping the lid will turn up one of these days!

Last weekend when I was set up at The Sewcial Lounge for the birthday party, I picked up a few handmade goodies from some sweet local crafters! A zipper pouch made from hand-printed fabric by Erica of Golden Egg Press, and a bunny Fuzzie named Dalton by Emily of Bluestar Ink! I had such a great time hanging out with these talented ladies!
