As we're approaching a year here in Wisconsin (July 29th!), I thought it might be fun to revisit our apartment. I've recently finished a few things up (curtains, mirror and artwork hung, etc) and it's funny how those last little things really make it feel like home. Since the apartment was super clean on Friday, I snapped some photos before our company arrived! So, a year later, let's take a look!
For comparison, here it is, about a week after we moved in.
The view from the door.
Behind the door. You can find a tutorial for the wrapped wreath here!
Side table. Remember when I stitched up that table topper?
Some of my vintage Pyrex! See more of my collection here.
Our trusty futon. Definitely need something for the walls behind it! Angela made the Single Girl pillow for me!
Work-in-progress bar cart. Put together the bar set for Michael this past Christmas. It barely gets used, but at least it's vintage and cool looking ;)
Kitchen.
The bunny wall! Mini quilts by me, tea towel from C, bunny baking embroidery from one of my grandmothers, and Dream On bag holder.
Bathroom. Shower curtain from Pat, used it instead of cutting it up for fabric after she re-did her bathroom! Please note the Hello Kitty toothbrush holder!
So it seems, all my nail polish looks pretty good together.
Bedroom. Working on a banner for above the bed. Beloved new, dreamy bedspread, Orla Kiely for Bed Bath and Beyond. I finally stitched up curtains. Print is from Coquette by Art Gallery.
Entry into the bedroom. George's cage (for at night!). $6 thrifted chair that now EXACTLY matches one of the colors in the new bedspread, score! Also, favorite Keane poster by Sanna Annukka. Darci made me the mermaid pillow!
My side. I can't resist vintage floral tins.
Michael's side. Very manly. Hello Kitty and Polaroid collections (mine, obviously!).
You've seen lots of this room, the sewing room.
My favorite piece of furniture, the vintage schoolhouse table my Dad gave me. Also, happy, happy, happy, mini quilts from friends.
My favorite collection, vintage enamelware (Cathrineholm + Dansk Kobenstyle). Also my favorite vintage Pyrex pieces.
Of course, more collections. Lalaloopsy dolls, Hello Kitty Megablocks and Unazukins.
I hope you've enjoyed this little tour. Our apartment might be small (under 500sq), but we've crammed a lot in it, relatively comfortably. The only thing we miss is a dining table, but honestly, we never ate at it in our last apartment, so it's not a big loss. You can see more photos of the apartment here, if you'd like!
That's all! :)
Where did you get the shelves that hold your Pyrex and enamelware?
ReplyDeleteI love that I got to see your cute apartment in person! Every little bit of it is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI am insanely jealous of your vintage Pyrex collection
ReplyDeleteVery cute apartment! You have such an adorable style. I love that you have Hello Kitty all over Michael's side! What a good guy! I hope you're enjoying Wisconsin. We just moved from there in February to Illinois and I'm missing it horribly!
ReplyDeletePS- I just started a new group on flickr for sharing sewing spaces. I'd love it if you added the pics of your studio to it (and anyone else)! Details can be found on my blog - roseandlin.com/blog

ReplyDeleteIt looks great!! So love to make a nest!! And then of course there is George....the wonder bunny!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove the tour, seeing all your cute stuff, especially the hello kitty tooth brush holder, might just have to track one down!
ReplyDeleteWow! I always imagined if I lived by myself in downtown Seattle I could manage a space that size, but I'm sure glad I don't have to!!!! I know your collections and stuff are cool, but I still think it's your lovely quilted touches that scream "home" to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's all so colourful! What a happy home :-)
ReplyDeleteLoving the handmade touches everywhere!!! when can I move in ;)
ReplyDeleteYou home is so cheerful, you made it your own. Thanks for sharing, I love it.

Your apartment is adorable! I am surprised it is 500 sq ft! You did a great job decorating it.
ReplyDeleteWow this is awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I'm always curious to see how people organize their stuff. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFor a small apartment you have crammed a lot in, the photos make it look really spacious! Love seeing collections of pretty much any kind and can never have enough vintage kitchen stuff!
ReplyDeleteYour place is so cute and fun, Jeni! I love that heart bowl, especially. And all of your collections are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your apartment and all of that color! Love your collections too, especially the Pyrex. I have a question, how do you keep up with dusting? I find that any items I have out on a shelf, or even just on a dresser top, get super dusty VERY quickly. How often do you have to dust or do you have a special cleaning secret that you can share???

I see you're really into Nordic design too, your house is like my dream house only 10x cuter! So jealous of your Arabia Finel heart bowl!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful homey space you've created!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been year since you moved! Your apartment looks so nice and cozy. It looks like such a fun place to live! :)
ReplyDeleteAww Jeni. What a cute apartment. Boyoboy you gotta alot of stuff in there but it is so neat! And colour-pops galore! I have to laugh though, for a girl who loves colour and can work it so well I was surprised to see that your kichenaid mixer is black! They come in so many colours but you chose black. But you know, for all the colour in your home, the black makes a statement. Nice work! xx Fi
ReplyDeleteI love your collections! they are so cute + pretty. I love that you have all tons of stuff, yet so nicely placed...
ReplyDeleteFun! I love your beautiful apartment :-) Your name is all over it!
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely post !
