Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend! I was unfortunately stuck on the couch with a cold, but I'm feeling a bit more like myself today!
Not much to show for this past week, on top of having a cold, my sewing machine was acting up too, so I dropped it off for a tune up on Friday. So, I'm sewing pretty with Hello Kitty in the mean time! It's pushed me to re-think my back-up sewing machine options, and I'm happily looking for a new machine! :)
I did do a little sewing though! I needed a new heat pack, so I quickly put this one together using Cloud 9 bunny flannel and some navy beans. Just heat it in the microwave for a few minutes, and it's nice and toasty warm!
I had good luck thrifting this weekend! Found these 16 vintage log cabin blocks for $3! Now I just need to figure out what to do with them! They'll definitely become some kind of quilt!
Finally had some good vintage sheet luck! These will be in the shop later this week, along with a shop sale!
This find got me really excited! A vintage Arabia Finel Daisy enamelware bowl! It's in great condition and was only $2!!
George and Michael hanging out this weekend!
I'll be back tomorrow with our next HST Block of the Month!
Today I love the..

Those are some great finds! I especially like the sheet with triangles. Such a pretty bowl!
ReplyDeleteAww, my niece has that machine and it lives at my house so sometimes I will use it just to get a little Hello Kitty fix. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. I have a cold right now too and got sent home from work today so I spent the afternoon pulling fabric for a new quilt :) And then sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! Loooove that enamelware (and the rest of your finds!)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean with back up machines. I have one... well actually my little girl has one... and I used it for a little while mine was getting cleaned. It was crappy. I mean hers is fine but I couldn't wait to get mine back because well that is why I paid more money is because it is just better :) I can't wait until I can upgrade the machine that I have now and then it will be my back up how awesome will that be :)
ReplyDeleteYour Hello Kitty machine is surely a cure for any cold?? so pretty! Love the vintage bowl you found too :))
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon :)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what you do with the log cabins!
I hope you're feeling better soon! :) That bowl you found is great!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage blocks! I just finished restoring a quilt for a customer that looks very similar! Will be on my blog soon...check it out!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better hun! And it seems that we're both in the same spot with our tantrum throwing machines! At least you have a backup to use for a little while ;)
ReplyDeleteJust the color of your Hello Kitty sewing machine makes me happy! I, too, need a back up machine. I'm thinking about a Janome Gem Platinum. Love your vintage bowl find, too! Glad you are on the mend!
ReplyDeleteIt really sucks to have a cold! Good to see you managed to get some things done and find some great items! =D
ReplyDeleteOoh. I love the bowl you scored! I hope you feel all better soon, Jeni! Hi, George!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeni, I was wondering if you like your Janome Hello Kitty Sewing machine? I have spotted on the same machine that you have for awhile. I am looking for a machine that is simple and will be good for a 8 year old. Thank you! Chase
ReplyDeleteI like your green Hello Kitty sewing machine, Jenny! It’s so cute! I’m sure even kids will love sewing if they were to use this machine. It’s a good thing that you have this as a backup tool; it helped you create colorful quilts while your original machine was under repair.
