I was absolutely tickled pink when Mark Cesarik, fabric designer for FreeSpirit, asked if he could send over some of his newest fabric line, Morning Tides. After seeing the photos, it took me about two seconds to say "Yes please"! I am an absolute sucker for purple, and there just is not enough purple fabric out there! When the fabric arrived on Friday, I had to sew something up with the Horizon colorway right away. I just started chopping away without too much of a plan (so unlike me!), making lots of crosses. The result, is this mini quilt! I added in some coordinating Kona solids and Heath by Alexander Henry to mix it up a little. Now I just need to decide how to quilt it! :)
After adding a new pincushion to my collection this week, I figured it was time for a new photo! I think I'm missing a few though, they're still packed away somewhere. You can never have too many pincushions!
I pulled out my Folksy Flannels infinity scarf this week, I forgot how cozy it is! I use Anna Maria Horner's tutorial but use 9" wide pieces instead of 18" wide!
A little sneak peek of a tutorial I'll be sharing here tomorrow!
I found candles for my Christmas Pyramid! I have been wanting one of these for FOREVER, and what do you know, my Mom found one thrifting for $5! We couldn't believe it. I love it. Love, love, love it!
Also, how cute is this garland? I picked it up at a gift shop in town that specializes in Scandinavian wares, The Century House. I love decorating for Christmas! :)
George!
Today I love the..
Smell of: Twisted Peppermint candle
Sound of: Elf!
Taste of: Pizza
Sight of: Twinkle lights
Feel of: Snuggly sweater
Good Things about Today:
- Productive sewing day!
- This bag & this bag!
- Cozy Sunday at home!
- Hanging out with Michael!
I love Christmas Pyramids also and have 3, a single level with just angels, a single level nativity and a double level with huge candles and a Christmas scene - not religious. I love to light them and watch them twirl. I have a huge box of candles for the little ones, but have resorted to emergency candles cit to size for the big one.
ReplyDeleteJeni, I always wonder what you do with all these awesome and colourful minis you make! You must have a totally rad wall full of minis in your house. :)

ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas pyramid! I have a small one too that my parents brought me back from their trip to Germany several years ago. Love the candles, mine doesn't have any.
