We made it to Wisconsin! The move went really smoothly, no issues at all! AND, nothing broke! Can you believe that?! I still can't! We're still a long way from getting everything unpacked and organized. but we're getting there. One of the first things I did when we got here was put the new quilt on the bed! I love how it looks!

The most complete room at this point is the sewing room, haha. I have my priorities straight! Shall have more photos when I can get some more light, there is only one window in the room, so it's a little dark!

As soon as I saw this on Pinterest, I knew I had to do it with my vintage thread collection! I love having it on display!!

Appleville Mini by jenib320

As I was hanging up quilts in my sewing room, I ran into a weird skinny space because of two larger quilts hanging next to each other. At 14"x33" what could I find to put there? Another mini quilt of course! I knew this had to be the first thing I would sew in my new space. Michael and I decided to take the night off from unpacking/organizing (which we have now decided on for every night, no moving stuff after 8pm!), so I got to work. I knew right away I wanted to cut into the delicious Appleville by Suzy Ultman that Ryan sent (thanks again!)! It is so beyond cute, it was the perfect happy fabrics for this mini.

I went about pulling other fabrics from my stash to play along. I based the quilt around some of the sweet scenes in the panel print. Keeping in mind how long and how wide I needed my quilt to be, I framed each scene log-cabin style and then used a print from the line to fill in the remaining width. It all worked out quite well despite the loose plan. I used 4 different panel scenes as well as a little bit of each of the 5 prints. I quilted it using my go-to free motion quilting pattern, doodle loops and backed it in some random Kona solid. It is bound in a dot from Swell by Urban Chiks and a scrap of Appleville.

I am so happy with the way this little mini turned out. I love these fabrics and I'm glad they now have a place in my sewing room. I cannot wait for Suzy's next line, Critter Community, to come out. Cutest owls ever! :)

Started drafting out the remake of my favorite vintage quilt, which I'm calling the Vintage Modified Nine Patch. I'm sure I could find a pattern for it, since it's a common design, but I want the scale to be the same. Thinking about using my It's a Hoot (plus a few extra prints) for it! :)
