It was a long weekend of packing and moving Michael out of his apartment. We are both exhausted! We were going to be making a trip up to Madison today to look at apartments, but decided Memorial Day probably wasn't the best day to drive that far, among other things. So we might go up next week instead.
In the meantime, I made myself a little travel pouch last night! I used up some scraps from the spiderweb blocks and made it double sided. I needed a little pouch this size and it came together really quickly. I tried a new zipper method, which I did not end up liking, but it's functional and that's what counts :)
Started a fun new embroidery project last night! I will be embroidering each state and then marking the cities/states I've lived in. At this point that's just Ohio, but come August! ;) It will be weird living in another state. I like living the heart-shaped state of Ohio!
Did a little holiday thrifting today. Didn't find tons, but did find these funky blue sheets and a purple one!
Couldn't pass up this awesome retro platter! I have cups, bowls and saucers to match! Maybe I need to host a tea party? :)
I have not forgotten about the Warm Cool Quilt Along, I swear! Things have been crazy and the dust finally seems to be settling, so I plan on starting it up sometime in the next two weeks. The question is, which pattern do you all want to sew up? Let me know in the comments! Your choices are. 1. Warm Cool Half-Square Triangles and 2. Warm Cool Trip Around the World.
George bunny!
Today I love the..
Smell of: New laundry detergent
Sound of: Jack Johnson
Taste of: Life cereal
Sight of: Sunny day
Feel of: Cool sheets
Good Things about Today:
- Good time thrifting
- Did two loads of laundry
- Keeping relatively cooly despite the heat + humidity
- Might squeeze some sewing in!
I prefer the warm cool half-square triangles !

ReplyDeleteI will be on vacation for the next 2 1/2 weeks but I definetly want to join my first quilt along ;)

ReplyDeletelove the platter! great find!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Madison (but live in Iowa now). Actually, I have been away for a lot of years, but I think you'll really like it there. It's a fun city. I wasn't a quilter when I lived there, so not sure what is there for quilt shops, etc.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the half square triangles myself. I understand moving away from home. I did it for my final semester of college..it was a wonderful experience. I did not know a soul but made lots of friends while I was away.
ReplyDeletetrip around the world for me!

ReplyDeleteI vote HST :0) The travel pouch is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove that platter and the pouch! I just moved my daughter to Madison, WI on Saturday, but I don't know if you're talking about the same city/state. If so, I think you'll like it there!

ReplyDeleteI love your pouch and am totally jealous that you always find such amazing sheets. How many stores do you have to hit to get that many in one day? Just one?

first, I've got to say your new header is fabulous! I vote for #1 HST. Your USA embroidery is a great idea - I think this would be fun to do and mark our far-flung family and friends on the map with charms that represent their interests. If I didn't already have a wishlist as long as my arm, I would add this to it :) george is adorable as always :)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the road trip embroidery? Can you email me and let me know? ofebers (at) hotmail (dot) com. I'd really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and love it; love your style! I am thinking about attempting first quilt along, and so I also vote for half square triangles.
