This is my cute little back-up machine! The Hello Kitty Janome! It got jammed up last year, and I finally got around to getting it fixed. Picked it up from the shop good as new! It's so nice and light! My regular machine weighs a ton, so it will be nice to use this as a travel machine! I put extra Hello Kitty stickers on mine, of course! ;)
Finally cut into my hand dyed fabrics this week. It was scary, but I love them even more all cut up!
Doing a little destash! We're moving! Michael was accepted into University of Wisconsin's Pharmacology Phd program, so we'll be moving to Madison this summer! Figured it's not too early to start purging and putting away money for the move! Thanks for looking! :)
Thrifted this little enamel owl trivet! This might be the cutest thing I've ever thrifted!
More birthday goodies arrived this week! Sweet gifts from Christina and Yahaira! I am so lucky to have such talented and kindhearted friends! Thank you again ladies :)
This is Willie! I volunteer at our local animal shelter every Friday afternoon. He just came into the shelter this week! He weighs 34 POUNDS! He is huuuuge! And super duper sweet! Just had to get a little video and some photos of him! I have never seen a cat this big in my life. Photos and video don't do him justice! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm originally from Madison; it's an amazing place to live. :) 'Grats to your husband on his acceptance into the Pharmacology program!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Love with Willie! I just love fat Cats. My cat Antar weighs about 18 lbs!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the Janome sewing machine and what a great idea to have as a backup! Now you've got me thinking....;) My Bernina is too heavy as well, for carting around.
ReplyDeleteI love Willie! I hope he gets adopted soon. I volunteer one Sunday a month for a shelter here and it always makes me sad when people either give up or abandon their cats.
Enjoy your weekend!
wowza, my 4 year old just hit 34 pounds! I showed her the picture and she got a kick out of a cat weighing as much as her
ReplyDeleteand he definitely weighs more than either of my 2 dogs who are medium sized dogs :)
congrats on your big move!! I see moving into a new place is always a fresh start! I too am moving this july (only into another house across town) but a bigger place and I am getting a bigger studio! (yay) so packing up all of my crafting supplies and mountains of pillows from my etsy shop should be lots of fun!!! that is one huge cat! my mom's cat "Malcolm" is just over 20 pounds!
ReplyDeleteLong time reader... but your note about moving to Madison was enough to get me to comment for the first time. I'm a life long Madisonian, and can't wait to hear what you think of this place! Wishing you a big welcome ahead of your move!

ReplyDeletelove the hello kitty machine, Natalie has been asking for her own sewing machine for her upcoming birthday - so I may have to cave in. :) Yay for moving!!! (to WI especially) and love that owl trivet, holy cuteness!
ReplyDeleteWow I love that Hello Kitty machine!! I have three Featherweights and they are lightweight, but this machine is WAY cool! And I've heard that Madison is a super great place to live!
ReplyDeletewhat a cute little machine!! and that big kitty is pretty cute too! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello Kitty indeed!
ReplyDeleteWillie is amazing! I just got a lecture from the vet about our 9mo female cat weighing 12 1/2lbs. She is not liking her diet :0)
ReplyDeleteHad no idea they made a Hello Kitty sewing machine- learning to sew has been on my to-do list and this just makes me all the more motivated!
ReplyDeleteAnd a big welcome to Madison this summer! I've lived here for the past 3 years, and can't imagine living anywhere else, ever!
I can't wait to see what you make with your hand dyed fabric!! And congrats on your upcoming move...Madison is only a few hours from me, we should plan a sewing weekend when you get there :)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that the owl trivet IS the cutest thing ever?
ReplyDeleteI have that sewing machine! it's not my backup, it's my only current machine (my other one is in nevada, and sad and lonely). So I hope it doesn't jam. Mine doesn't have Hello Kitty stickers, but maybe I should go get some, haha! Mine has directions and labels like 'bobbinator' and 'spinny thing' on it. :P
ReplyDeleteCute sewing machine ! It's like a toy !
ReplyDeleteIn the 5th picture (Birthday Spoils) do you know the name of the block that is in this picture? It seems like it might be a mini quilt or coaster, it looks like a star. Really like the pattern.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone was too kind to Willie in the treats dept. He needs some exercise - maybe walk him behind your new bike. We know a guy (big tatooed burly Navy Seal) who has a Hello Kitty machine and sews quilts with it in the barracks!I don't think anyone has the guts to give him crap about it. Will you graduate before you move? What are you majoring in? N
