Vintage Sheet Dresdens, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Finished up my vintage sheet dresden pillow today! I am so pleased with how it turned out. It ended up slightly smaller than I wanted but oh well. The pillow form still fit, so I can't complain too much.

I first got the idea of vintage sheet dresdens in my head from Holly's beautiful quilt. I designed this pillow to fit right in with my lovely pillows from Angela (single girl pillow) and Kerri (dream on pillow). Kerri's has a radial design and Angela's is more circular. I wanted to consider both elements in the design which led me to the classic dresden plate. I made one and then decided it needed a little more to fill the pillow up (it's a 24" form) so added a second. I used vintage sheet scraps from my stash. To incorporate the dream on (other than just using vintage sheets) and the tan solid from Angela's pillow, I choose to use the tan/brown dream on inspiration sheet I found a few weeks back. It happens to be a really close match to Angela's solid which worked out perfectly!

I quilted it pretty doodle-y. Which is partially a result of quilting at midnight. I just kind of went with it. I quilted just in the background and then did a swirl in the center of each dresden.

I contemplated adding trim but would have needed to order it and then wait for it to arrive, so I just left it be. I think it looks fine since Angela's has trim and Kerri's has binding, so they are all different.
