Love having Cincinatti Chili to eat on during the week!
I have always wanted to find a print that my grandmother had. It was a sheet set on the guest bed I used to sleep in. I can't explain the pattern, but it had every color of the rainbow in it. Oh and your chili looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI dream of finding a vintage treadle sewing machine in working order. Always on the look out for one.
ReplyDeleteI want to find more Catherine Holm!
ReplyDeleteOh my favourite thrifting find I just had yesterday. A box filled with diffrent shades of lovely green, blue, red, yellow,... embroidery floss!I am so happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great give away.Would be fun to win.
Hugs Martina
My favorite thrifting find was a long time ago, it was finding a black/charcoal snowflake pyrex oval casserole dish at the local Goodwill store. I think that's the only time I've ever found one locally; the rest of mine (I started collecting them after that) I think I got on eBay. More recently I was pleased to find a couple of milk glass mixing bowls that appeared to be of the sort that my Mom likes, so I got them for her. (Dunno what kind they are specifically; I did not check *scuffle*)
ReplyDeleteI grew up thrifting with my father, and I remember one of my favorite finds was this lovely old china teacup with blue and pink flowers. It is so delicate and beautiful, it makes me so happy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about thrifting is that when I go and I find something I go home and feel like I've rescued something. Like that whatever it is I found has been lonely since everyone has forgotten about it and I came in and rescued it and brought it home to be friends with my other thrifted finds! I think my dream find would be.... hmmm... a Gunne Sax dress that's just my size!! Or a cat-shaped/themed teapot. I love those!
ReplyDeleteI am not much of a thrifter .. I just drool over other peoples finds. I do love going to auctions though. The best find ever from an auction was a hand painted picture of our house! We live in a century home in a farming community, and a local artist did a series of century homes, one of which was ours!!! It now hangs in our dining room.
ReplyDeleteHey there! Last year I scored a late 1950's Singer Model 201K in full working order. Although, strictly speaking, that was not a thrifty find - I merely rescued it from a friend before she donated it elsewhere. Is that really bad?! Do you think I ruined somebody elses thrifting fun?! Oh, I don't care! I love her and she sews better than my modern machine! Just goes to show you huh?! Fingers crossed for the giveaway - that top fabric is SO CUTE!!!!

I love your blog it's really interesting to see all the nice things you find! I didn't know about all those pyrex stuff but following your blog had me dreaming of pyrex for myself! Thanks for the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying your blog. My best thrift store find was a Cathrineholm spice rack in the original packaging. I love it. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to find some of those beautiful floral vintage sheets and fabric that you have found and I love to find vintage barbies, too.oh, and a vintage aqua typewriter. Mostly, though, I like to go and look just to find any treasure or something that reminds me of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI just recently found your blog. I have found a lot of really cool things thrifting - it's hard to pick a favorite. So I will go with most recent. Last week I came across a bag of 32 vintage (mostly 60s) patterns for $4.50!
ReplyDeleteOn Friday, I found a Tilley's Endurables skirt, size 18 (I'm a 12 -- I bought it for the fabric) made of Liberty of London fabric. I'm pretty sure it had never been worn. The skirt sells new for $149 here in Canada and I'd estimate it has about Cdn $60 worth of Liberty fabric. For $8 at Value Village. At the same time, my fiance found a vintage Swiss fondue set that retails at about $160. I think we did pretty good ....

ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win so many fun goodies,

It's so hard for me to pick a favourite thrift find! It might be my Pink Stems pyrex, but I have found so many great things. I think my biggest thrifting dream right now would be the Blowing Leaves Pyrex dish.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these vintage goodies!!
My favorite thrifting finds always involve fabrics..especially ikea prints! 1970's floral prints are hard to resist too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful little package you're giving away. I dream of finding an old charm quilt, or a vintage dress form... Ambitious dreams, especially considering the places I thrift! But you gotta dream...
ReplyDeleteI dream of finding some Thonet chairs, or a Kitchenaid mixer. I know, I dream big!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS vintage buttons. :)

ReplyDeleteI love getting thrifting inspiration from your blog! My recent finds were my first Catherinholm dish, and now I'm dreaming of finding more!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a fun giveaway!
I dream of finding an old vintage cane blue and white circular chair and some lovely vintage patterns :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jeni! I would really like to find more Pyrex (esp. in the Friendship pattern)! On of the best finds I've had was a huge stash of vintage silk thread. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful, I do not use them, they are tucked away until I can find the proper container to display them in. Great giveaway, thanks for sharing :) By the way, I looked up "Cincinnati Chili" I had no idea how diffrent it is from what I am used to, but boy does it look yummy! I will have to try this. Do you eat it with spaghetti noodles or rice?
ReplyDeleteYou have so much energy! Thrifting,cooking,quilting...My fave thrifting find is my pink Pyrex 502 with lid for 99 cents. But just I write this I can think of dozens of fave thrifting finds! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope I enter the giveaway because I'm in Canada...
What a great giveaway! And one of the benefits of entering late is that I got to read through everyone's thrifting stories first! I only started thrifting in a serious way in the last year, motivated by a love of vintage dishes and fabric, and the fact that my sister is going to give homemade canned goods as favours at her wedding, and needs cheap jars. :)
ReplyDeleteBy far my favourite find is a bowl and plate designed by Stig Lindberg (here)...I got the pair for a grand total of one dollar!!
