Warm Colors Patchwork Quilt

My first quilt is finished! FINISHED! I am so happy and excited! I had it professionally quilted by Christina over at The Sometimes Crafter! She did and amazing job, I highly reccomend her for your next quilting project! I will certainly turn to her for my next quilt! Which is already being planned :D I think I want to do a quilt just like this one except with cool colors instead of warm. I have such a large fabric stash and this is such a good way to clear some of it out. So it would be blues, greens, and purples. I'm excited to start going through my fabrics and planning it all out!

Soon I will be trying to take better photos of this beauty. The gray of Cleveland winters is slowly creeping in. I haven't had good photo-taking light in my apartment since Saturday so it's been hard to get decent photos. However as soon as it's nice there will be many more photos. Here is an older post that documents each step of the way: My First Quilt!

If you'd like to make your own, check out my Colors Quilt Tutorial.

  1. It's just beautiful! It was very hard to send it back. ;) You've captured the quilting so well in your photos. I can't wait to see the "cool" version! I'm going to blog about this in tomorrow's post.

  2. I don't know what it is but I'm really loving the pink and orange color combination as of late! I may have to try one and my boys will just have to relax their "no pink" rule!

And I'm even more motivated to get my quilts posted off the Christine tonight!

  7. It's a beauty -- it turned out great! I love the pretty colors you've chosen! I did a blue one in blues last year -- more traditional fabrics for the recipient, but it would give you an idea of what one in blues looks like. ;-)

  9. This is super cute! I've been scoopin up fabrics in these colors for the past month or so, I think I'm desperately trying to grab onto anything that reminds me of summer! I have't done anything with them yet... but I love the simplicity of yours, I may have to be a copycat and do squares too!
