Traveling Handmade!
Monday, October 3, 2011
I have always liked sewing bags, but ever since I sewed my first real successful purse last year, I began to really love adding handmade goodies to my travel. When Megan and I decided to do Travel Handmade this summer, I wrote myself a long "hope to sew list" of bags to take along with me to Sewing Summit. I am happy to report that almost every item got finished! Don't worry, some were past projects, they weren't all sewn in the last few months! The only non-handmade bag traveling with me is my suitcase (I'm not THAT crazy!)!
Here it is all together! It didn't seem like much until it was all in one photo. I guess all that nervous energy had to go somewhere, hehe :)
Laundry Bag (tutorial on my blog), Simplicity 2274 Duffel Bag & Luggage Tag (review on my blog), Jane Market Tote (pattern).
Boxy toiletries bag (tutorial), Orla placemat bag (tutorial), Flat iron case (tutorial), Make-up roll (pattern), Small zipper pouch for hair ties, medicine, etc.
Heirloom & Little Apples drawstring bags (one for camera, one for chargers! tutorial on my blog after Sewing Summit!), Laptop case (tutorial), iPad case (tutorial), Mendocino drawstring pouch for headphones (made by Jess!).
Zig-zag and Logcabin project zipper pouches, Travel sewing kit (made by Jessica!), Tiny scissor cover.
Emma Bag (Grand Revival Designs), Metal frame pouch for candy (made by Yahaira!), Mini Shopper and business card pouch (made by Terri!), Fabric Envelope for documents (tutorial on my blog), Patchwork Coffee Cozy (guest tutorial on Skip to my Lou).
Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in one more post before I leave on Thursday for Sewing Summit, but if not, I'll see you all next week! :)
